Magical Dragon Shift

Hi all :)

This is my entry for the Neverland Nail Blog Nail Art Contest :) The theme is 'Do you believe in magic?'

This mani is based off of the game Dino Shift. The first time I saw it I thought the surroundings of the little dino was magical.. So I had to recreate it in nail art..

You can't see the gradient of the sky as much in the photos as IRL.. You just have to imagine it then ;) And of course the colors aren't color accurate..

Artsy Wednesday - Inspired by shoes you own: Geometric Canvas

Hi all :)

Today's theme is inspired by shoes that you own.. And I actually did these a couple of weeks ago - 'cause it was new shows and I knew I wanted to do a design based off of them before I started using them.. I held on to this mani, becaise I knew I would be busy around now and probably wouldn't have the time to do a mani for today.. And I was right - my nails have now been naked for 4 days :O I miss having polish on them ;)

Care for a snow and confetti sandwich?

Hi all :) I totally love this! I've wanted to do this forever.. Why I haven't done it before I don't know.. But now it's here :D Unfortunately I only got one decent photo of it..

I love how the metallic looking glitters turns bright when sandwiched :)

Another quickie I did last week before going on a mini cruise to Oslo (Norway) yay!.. I liked this, it's simple and elegant!

Artsy Wednesday - Flowers: Childish and simple

Hi all :)

It's time for another Artsy Wednesday.. I love these challenges :) This time the theme is flowers.. I had two ideas: Doing a close-up of different kind of flowers and doing a child-like 'drawing'.. The childish idea won :) I guess that's more my style ;)

I raelly enjoy this mani :) It's so spring-y and happy even though it is super simple!

Aand close-ups of course, this way you can see the base color better.. and how childish this really looks close up:p

Project Swatch 'Em All!

Hi all :)

What seems like ages ago, I got a tip from Maria about where to buy swatch sticks.. I wanted to swatch my whole collection as to get an overview of it.. So I ordered 200 sticks thinking I would have some left future purchases.. What was I thinking?

Well I quickly realised that I didn't have enough, so I bought 200 more... That wasn't enough either!! How could I be so wrong about the number of polishes in my collection? :O

Well I've ordered 100 more (as far as I remember).. And i know that I have around 50 polishes left to swatch. Maybe I should have ordered more? :p This process has taken a long time, since they are shipped from Australia so it takes about 3-4 weeks for them to get here..

Well I was shocked to realise how many polishes I actually own! It doesn't feel right..

Well, here's the 400 swatch sticks with names and how many coats used.. Next to them are some nail wheels which I swatched some of the remaining polishes on..

And here they all are out on my floor, ready to get sorted..

Sorted into colors (and a group of glitters/flakies/color chaning polishes etc.)

And here they all are, assembled and everything :) This is how are store them right now, but I think I need to find a better solution..

For a long time I've thought about counting my polishes, but didn't know how to do it best and wouldn't really want to admit how many polishes I own.. But now I know I have around 450.. And I think it's way to many for me!! And I was quite surprised.. haha.. So know I need to clean out in my stash..

Have you ever been surprised by how many polishes you actually own? And now I'm curious - how many polishes do you own? :D And how do you keep an 'overview' of your polishes?

A quickie...

Hi all :)

Just a quick mani I did one morning when at my parents house.. I borrowed my mom's Sally Hansen Pedal to the Metal and did this.. ehm.. half-moon-ish design? with OPI My Private Jet.. I don't know what to call it?!

As you can see it isn't perfect, but I just needed something on my nails and actually think it turned out kinda cute..

Here's the stickers I used for masking off the areas:

I bought these because the french tip stickers are more round than the other ones I have, and I hope they would make a better half moon design! And it's just awesome to have some other shapes :)

I'm busy and sometimes off the grid atm, so I'm behind on answering on comments :/ And getting behind on my Google Reader again.. I just caught up! Well, that's life =)

What do I call this kind of design when it isn't a half-moon shape? I'm lost.. :p

So, for a while I've been thinking about doing some sort of nail art contest.. And now I kind of have to! haha.. Since I have ambivalent feelings about giveaways I know that's off the table.. But I still feel like everybody should have a chance.. So I've been thinking about a nail art contest, where the nail design gives you an entry for the 'giveaway' and that's it! Then it's a random winner and everybody can participate without thinking 'Oh I won't be able to do anything nice enough'... What do you think about that idea? Do you have any other ideas?

Artsy Wednesday - Stripes: Well, they're there!

I got the time to do my stripe nails.. But I'm not really satisfied with it.. It looked different in my head.. But that's life :) At least my nails are now polished!

It just doesn't really speak to me or pop out as I wanted it to do :/

I like the design much more in these close-ups than on my nails!

Frame that subtle stamp!

BAM! I loved it! But why are my manis always chipping within a day?! Annoying! Especially because I don't have the time to change my mani each day.. Well, that's just life :)
